More about our Rescue Dog Training

At K9 STARS we think rescue dogs are STELLAR! We know first-hand just how rewarding adopting a rescue dog can be. The bond formed between a rescue dog and their Guardian is something very special.

However, your newly adopted dog can take time to adapt to their new life and may need a little extra support. Training develops the bond and relationship between you and your dog and helps you communicate better. That's why we offer a special 20% rescue dog discount on our 1 to 1 training sessions*. What's more, because animal rescue charities do such STELLAR work, we donate 10% of the course fee back to the charity you adopted from.

You can teach an old dog new tricks, so no matter their age, breed or background, we will tailor the package to suit both your needs. Sessions can cover the same content as our group courses (such as our Rising STARS or STAR Citizen Training Scheme), we can cover rally training, walking nicely on a lead, coming back when called or we can tailor to suit your needs. Sessions can be based at K9 STARS in Ulrome, at your home or another location (such as on a walk or at a park)**.

If you would prefer to attend group classes with your rescue dog, or would like to move on to a group course after some 1 to 1s, please contact us. We also offer a special rescue dog discount when purchasing your first full group course.

 

Dogs must have been adopted in the last 6 months to qualify. Proof of adoption required. Charity must be registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales to be eligible for donation. Charity number to be supplied at time of booking.

Please note our 1 to 1 sessions cover training aspects, we can not help with behavioural issues (such as aggression towards people or dogs). If you are unsure whether your dog requires training or behavioural support, please contact us before booking.

* When compared with booking single 1 to 1 sessions at £70/session. **There may be a mileage fee for travel over 10 miles from YO25 8TP. Please contact us to discuss.
