KC GCDTS Bronze Award
Wednesdays 6:00-6:45pm

First level of the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme.
The Bronze Award provides you with a basic knowledge of understanding and training your canine companion. It is a basic standard that all dogs can achieve with correct handling. When ready, you will have the opportunity to be examined to receive a nationally recognised Kennel Club award.
We recommend that your dog is socialised to join these classes. We can also offer some 1 to 1 refresher training sessions prior to joining the scheme if required.
More About This Course
The Bronze Award aims to produce a dog that will walk and behave in a controlled manner on the lead, will stay in one position on command, will allow you to clean, groom and inspect them, are able to stand, sit or lie down, all on the lead and come to you when called.
The training will cover:
- Walk on a lead
- Return to handler
- Control at a door or gate
- Controlled walking amongst people and dogs
- Grooming
- Examination of the dog
- Stay on a lead for 1 minute
- Collar, lead and equipment
- Cleanliness and Identification
- Responsibility and care (covering a dogs needs, illness and responsibilities of ownership)
